Biometric screenings: Tasha's journey Tasha learns about biometric screenings through her employer. She learns there are four ways to get screened. On-site event, Local lab, Physician results from, At-home kit While Tasha feels healthy, she knows it's important to get screened. So she selects and orders an at-home kit and completes her screening. About a week later, she gets the results. Tasha is surprised to discover she has prediabetes. She immediately schedules an appointment with her doctor. Tasha is reassured when her doctor tells her that lifestyle changes could help prevent diabetes. She makes a plan to get more active, including walking each night. And playing tennis with her sister weekly, as well as prepping healthy meals for the week. Six months later, Tasha has another A1c blood test. While it's still in the prediates category, the number has dropped and she's thrilled. Her doctor tells her to keep up the healthy steps, and Tasha says she'll be sure to get her screening again next year.
